The hurst drive project included the development of cyling lanes, new curbs and gutters as well as ways to manage stormwater. The project specfied the Filterra bio-rentention units along the cycling path.
Filterra units are a engineered bio-retention system used to not only manage stormwater but also to remove pollutants such as phosphorus. filteera units meet the LID design criteria and provide a sustainable solution to treating run off. As biofilterra units require a form of vegetation, these units are complete with shrubs which also provides an aesthetically pleasing view for resdiences who will be taking advantage of these new paths.
