Project Overview

The Berczy Glen Phase 1 development is a large residential subdivision project located in Markham just north of Toronto, which includes mixed high-rise and low-rise residential dwellings.

Niran Construction was awarded the contract for site servicing for this large residential project. The project includes servicing of over 300 dwellings as well as the installation of infrastructure. The project included 100D concrete storm sewer, maintenance holes, inline maintenance holes, and catch basins. There were also 250D class concrete pipes, maintenance hole stubs, and extended maintenance hole bases.

The Solution

Niran raised concerns to your Engineering Team about sensitive ground conditions and the lower-class pipe designed by the Consultant. After engaging the excellent Engineering Team at Rinker Materials, a review of the site conditions was performed, and a recommendation to use 240D pipe and the Special Manhole design was implemented with great success.

Rinker manufactured a 300mm specially designed pipe at 240D strength to accommodate the deep installation for this project.

In the collaboration between Rinker and Niran, a special maintenance hole structure was designed and manufactured, included in this structure is an extended base along with cast-in concrete pipe joints.

Because of the design of precast concrete pipe, this pipe is a structure when it arrives on the job site, there were no concerns with concrete pipe as a solution to the deep installation.

Proven design and time-saving efficiency are just a few ways precast pipe continues to be the product of choice for owners and engineers alike.
