Project Overview

The Cachet Parq development is a residential subdivision consisting of back-to-back, live/work, traditional townhomes, and future mid-rise residential dwellings. Cachet Parq Homes is known for not only building exceptional homes but also for exceptional communities. The development is located at Colborne Street East and Iroquois Street in the City of Brantford.

A local contractor Brantford Engineering was awarded the contract for site servicing for this residential project. The project includes servicing of dwellings, site works, and the installation of infrastructure. The project also required onsite water storage.

The Solution

The project initially specified a water storage solution which was a competitive product to the Xstream water retention/ detention system made by Rinker. Brantford Engineering who is a long-time dedicated customer of Rinker, provided an alternative for the use of Xstream on this project.

With the collaboration between Brantford Engineering and Rinker, the owner approved the Xstream water retention system. There were two water retention systems utilized as part of this project.

The Xstream water retention system located on the north side of the site was comprised of 33 2.4m x 1.5m box culvert units. This system was designed to account for 293 m3 of water. On the south side of the site, the Xstream water retention system comprised of 14 2.4m x 1.5m box culvert units. Both systems required special design of the box culvert units.
